Setting customer group pricing in Magento 2:

Magento has two comparable features for setting differential prices – catalogue rules and group pricings – and both can provide similar outcomes. So, how do you decide which to use in this or that situation? Lets break it down:

It is better to apply catalogue rules to entire product categories or the entire shop. While on the other hand, group price is more beneficial when applied per product and for a specific set of clients.

– Go to Catalogue > Products

– Open the Edit mode for the product for which you wish to create a tiered price.

– Below the Price section, click the Advanced Pricing caption.

– Fill in the mentioned sections i.e. Special Price, Cost, Special Price From (the date range special price is valid), Website and Customer group to whom the promotion will apply Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price, Display Actual Price.

When done, click “done” in the top right corner.

How to use Customer Groups in Magento 2:

As previously said, in order to get the most out of your Magento 2 store, you must target the correct audience with the relevant messaging and offers. So, the first step is to divide your customers into customer groups.

There are several areas where you may use the customer groups in Magento 2 functionality. Let’s find out what it is.

Customer Group Price Rules:

Tier Price is a feature of customer groups in Magento 2 that enables you to create customer group discounts based on the amount of goods purchased. It pushes clients to buy more in order to receive a discount.

CMS Block Display Restrictions:

CMS blocks are commonly used to provide a discount or to provide essential information with your clients. However, not all deals will be as appealing to one group of clients as they are to another.

As a result, you may configure the CMS blocks and pages’ display rules and specify which customer groups will see them.

Cart Price Rules:

Cart Price Rules are used in Magento 2 to give discounts to clients depending on certain situations. Customer Group is one of the options available when defining the cart price rule.

Even if some consumers meet the parameters of the cart price rule, they will not be eligible for the discount since it is only available to a certain customer group.

And that’s not the end of it. Customer groups are utilized with a variety of additional custom rules and extensions to give a more tailored customer experience.
